Our Focus
`

Volunteers : We place volunteers with NGOs committed to social change. Our more than 25 partner NGOs work at the grassroots level with diverse communities on varied social issues and positively impact the lives of people. As volunteers, you are placed in such organizations where you will have the opportunity to use your skills productively to empower the communities you work with.

While you help empower the communities by using your skills effectively and productively, you learn to adapt your own skills to changing perspectives and varied work cultures. In today’s scenario of global employment, this dexterity would enhance your ability to work across issues, geographical locations and cultures.

Our volunteering-specific orientation, provided to you and the NGO, as well as our structured monitoring processess optimize the effectiveness of your volunteering and ensure that it is mutually beneficial for you and the program that you are placed with.

Networking : We work towards a sharing of information and resources amongst the NGOs that we partner to optimize the benefits to the community. Joining Hands continually strives to identify new organizations that use innovative and effective practices for the development of the communities they work with.

Our Activity

Joining Hands, for its ‘Volunteering in India’ program, chooses volunteers who have a deep interest and commitment towards positive social change and are willing to work with programs that are impacting social and economic development in India. You can be from diverse educational and professional backgrounds.

The relationship between the Joining Hands,’ Volunteering in India’ program and participating NGOs is collaborative and mutually beneficial. The NGOs define and retain responsibility for their projects, while Joining Hands contributes skilful volunteer talent, which is hard to find and which delivers valuable support that NGOs might not otherwise be able to afford or obtain. Joining Hands ensures that you are placed with programs that best match your skill, area of interest, expertise and time availability.

With over twenty years experience and an in-depth understanding of the development sector, we felt the need for an organization that would help NGOs access the unaffordable but much needed skills and professional talent. We also perceived the need of a section of people who believe in social change and want to contribute their time, skills and talent for the benefit of the community, but are uncertain about how to do this. Joining Hands, a non profit organization, has been founded to address the needs of both these sections of people by facilitating their coming together to move towards greater progress of the social development sector.

Our team has 'hands on' experience in the field of development... from Fundraising to Identification, Monitoring and Evaluation of projects to ensure optimal utilization of resources by the NGOs being supported. Other areas of proficiency have included Administration and Human Resource functions, Financial Planning, Marketing and Communications.
