My volunteering experience:
After my superannuation from service, I felt that I have all through only have given time for my family and me and remained self-oriented. This thought provoked me to enquire about the Institutions who are basically serving children in their school level. My aim was to extend support to the children who are normally below average and are not given attention in their schools I got the opportunity to serve. I am extremely grateful to ‘Joining Hands’ for giving me the platform. |
I volunteered with a Drugs rehabilitation centre in May’08. In the centre, children need to be guided and require to be given time for their education relevant to the age and past background.I joined on 18th May’08 and could only spare 2Hrs on Sundays. I have now new friends of mine in the Centre of age group 12 to 50, children and women. However I mostly taught the children who I find are enthusiastic in their response. I personally feel that these centres need more volunteers ‘to bring to the rail, the derailed children of society’. - Mr. R.N. Mukherjee |
NGO says - Mr. R.N Mukahrjee conducted remedial education classes for our street children under going treatment for Drug Abuse and behavior modification who are illiterate and drop-outs at primary level.
This kind act enhanced the learning level of these children. Organization is very grateful for this great work and hopes for more such wonderful associations in the future.
