Joining Hands and UNV - International Year of Volunteers: 10th Anniversary 2011
On December 5, 2011, United Nations Volunteers marks the tenth anniversary of the International Year of Volunteers or 'IYV+10'. This is a very important year as this year UNV completes 10 years of increasing awareness of the achievements and developing further potential of volunteerism for economic and social development.
"In the past, Joining Hands has been associated with United Nations Volunteers to promote volunteering and this year too we have partnered with UNV to celebrate IYV+10 in India. UNV has formed a National Committee that will steer the IYV+10 India Campaign with the goal to support the IYV+10 activities in India, develop and implement initiatives to mark IYV+10 in the country, facilitate all year-round activities and generate additional resources at the national and local levels. Joining Hands is part of the promotion taskforce where the mission is to promote inclusive and representative volunteerism. Through this partnership we plan to successfully work along with many associated organizations towards making volunteering a mass movement in India |
